Description

Cae Iago Riding Centre (est. 1968) is a family run business specialising in adult riding holidays. Over the last 40 years it has established itself as one of the most popular riding holiday centres in Wales. It is located on the edge of the beautiful Cambrian Mountains in the heart of rural Wales ensuring spectacular riding country and varied wildlife. Old Roman roads and ancient drovers tracks take us past clear mountain streams as they bubble down wild unspoilt hills into shady valleys.

The Horses
We have a wide range of forward going and well cared for Welsh cobs and horses to suit all abilities. However, as you will be riding four to five hours per day, we now ask everyone to have mastered the basic riding skills(walk,trot and a little canter) prior to arrival as we feel this will make their holiday all the more enjoyable and a lot less painful!

Fun and relaxation are the main aims. If you want to stay in bed until breakfast time and saunter out just in time for the ride at 10.30am, your horse will have been brought in, brushed and tacked up ready for you. You are also very welcome to get up a bit earlier and bring your horse in from the field and prepare him/her for the ride. You will be supervised at all times, so it is an excellent opportunity to gain confidence if you are new to it.

Packages
We offer full week packages, midweek and weekend breaks as well as trail rides for the more experienced rider. Mid-week breaks are becoming increasingly popular and you can choose between 2,3,4 or 5 day breaks. As there are no designated start or finish times to our breaks you can adapt your holiday to suit yourself and price it accordingly. All packages consist of 4 - 5 hours of riding per day on safe forward going cobs over some superb Welsh countryside plus full board accommodation.

Accommodation
Our late Victorian farmhouse is clean and comfortable and the client accommodation comprises of :
2 x three bedded rooms.
3 x twin rooms.

We also have a new accommodation block which is situated opposite the farmhouse which includes 2 twin bedded rooms.

Breakfast and dinner are served in the communal dining room and all our packages consist of full board accommodation -

Full English Breakfast, Packed lunch, Afternoon tea and a Two course evening meal.

Location and facilities
After a day's riding there are plenty of interesting places to visit and things to do in the locality or if you fancy a leisurely walk we will be happy to give you directions.For those of you who just want to relax on site there is a pleasant garden to sit in, a comfortable lounge with sky television and a games room. We also have a little shop selling gifts and riding wear and there is wireless internet connection throughout the property.
