Description

One and two day courses in watercolours, oils and holiday sketching held at Harrop Fold Farm in the fine 17th Century converted barn/studio in the Peak District National Park with professional artist Michael Moore.

The Artist
Michael Moore is an artist member of the Fine Art Trade Guild and has been a professional artist for over 25 years. His favourite subject matter is landscape and seascape in oils and watercolour, varying his style between traditional and contemporary approaches to painting.

Michael Moore is an experienced and sympathetic tutor, keen to de-mystify painting as a craft and a gift. His advice to his pupils is to be confident, and have belief in your own ability to think about what you see, and translate this vision into paint. He believes that all of us have the ability to do this, with a little guidance.

Courses in Watercolours & Oils
From one day Foundation and Intermediate Courses to two day advanced courses - choose the medium and level to suit you.

Holiday Sketching Course
You will be given your own new Holiday Sketch Book on arrival, and when you leave you will have at least two good sketches completed. This Art Course is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.

Cost: £85.00 per day

Course Details
The art course begins on arrival at Harrop Fold Farm, enjoying ‘A Quintessentially English Experience’, this theme is carried through with the accommodation, homemade and home reared or locally sourced food through to the art courses. Guests arrive bringing nothing with them and leave with their own beautifully framed painting; the sense of guest’s achievement is wonderful to witness. This is a family business with husband & wife, Michael & Jackie involved on the art courses, Jackie’s daughter Sue and husband David responsible for the food, accommodation and farm, and their Cordon Bleu trained daughter Leah, cooking for the residential dinners.

Harrop Fold Farm has a 5 Star Silver Award from the English Tourism Council.
