Description

The Galloway Activity Centre is situated at Loch Ken which lies on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, the largest forest park in Britain, covering 300 square miles of rolling hills blended with harsh rugged scenery and various expanses of water.

In addition to our water based activities which include sailing, kayaking, windsurfing canoeing and raft building, we also offer land based options like our Climbing Wall with zip wire and leap of faith. Other dry activities include archery mountain biking and our newest activity Outdoor Laser Quest.

Our Centre caters for School Groups, families, Corporate groups, stag and hen groups, and individuals. From multi activty fun day to bespoke instruction we have something for everybody.

Water Based Activities

2-5 Day sailing Courses for Adult and Juniors
Many people who come to us are complete beginners. We recommend an RYA Level 1 & 2 course for the oppurtunity to master the basics and learn to sail comfortably without an instructor. The course normally runs over 5 days but can be split over a series of weekends to suit your availability.

Windsurfing Courses
Galloway Sailing Centre is the ideal location for learning and improving at all levels of windsurfing.

Kayaking and Canoeing
At GSC we cater for kayakers and canoeists of all abilities, from basic proficiency to instructor training.

Powerboating Courses
Our powerboating courses take you from the basics of low speed handling to the skills of high speed turns. We work to the RYA's national powerboating scheme, from the core skills of RYA Level 1 to the more specific RYA safety boat course. Our courses are "Hands-On" and are backed up by relevant theory.

Multi-Activity Courses

Each course is arranged to meet your requirements and can be anything from a day’s taster to a full week of adventure.

Accommodation, catering and bar facilities are all available on site and we offer fully residential, self catering, and non-residential options on all our courses.

We provide all the equipment you’ll need for each activity. Our large fleet of boats, boards and kayaks is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Accommodation

The Lodge
Our Lodge Sleeps 20 and comprises of 5 rooms of 4 single beds. We book each bed out individually but also offer discounted rates for families, large groups and exclusive bookings.

Loch Side Cabins
With four 2 bed cabins and one 6 bed they are perfect for families and individuals alike.

Caravan and Camping Club
Our caravan and camping club recognised pitching ground is situated on a grassy plateau looking over the sailing centre with views over the picturesque Loch Ken, over to Bennan hill and the Galloway Forest Park.

Tipi
If it’s a campfire sing-along that you’re looking for, why not try our Tipi. We hire it out to groups or families sleeping 6-8 people.
